John Albright

John Albright is the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Strategy Officer for the Colorado Community College System (CCCS), which he joined in February 2026. In this role, he oversees System Office operations and is responsible for facilitating and tracking development, movement, and progress on CCCS strategic priorities and initiatives, as well as the overall effectiveness and efficiency of all CCCS operations.

John brings senior executive experience across education and the nonprofit sector, with a background that uniquely positions him to support CCCS at scale. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Executive Director of City Year Denver, part of a national organization focused on supporting K–12 students to stay engaged in learning, remain on track academically, and graduate prepared for college and career. In this role, he led organizational strategy and partnerships while overseeing programs that place AmeriCorps members in schools to provide academic support, mentoring, and relationship-based services. 

Earlier in his career, John held senior leadership roles at Denver Public Schools, including Student Engagement Director and Deputy Chief of Staff, where he led system-level initiatives and advanced student success across Colorado’s largest school district. 

Known for a leadership style rooted in transparency, accountability, and trust-building, John brings a deep respect for the role community colleges play in supporting learners, communities, and Colorado’s economic future.
