Community College of Denver is seeking individuals with demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and work environment. CCD values the ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, instructors and staff of diverse backgrounds.
GENERAL SUMMARY
This is a Grant-funded position and contingent upon continued funding.
The primary purpose of concurrent enrollment is to support high school students who take CCD college classes while they are in high school through the concurrent enrollment, ASCENT, P-TECH, and Early College programs. Concurrent enrollment is offered both at high school and CCD campuses. Concurrent Enrollment Advisors collaborate closely with high school / district staff, students and families to provide them with accurate and current information about academic programs and campus policies, and empower students to own their educational choices and career path decisions. This includes leading student orientations, providing individual and small group advising, and assisting in the registration process while maintaining the necessary documentation when working with students. They also direct students to college and partner resources, assist with scholarship information, and aid in retention efforts in order to keep students engaged and guide students to completion of the appropriate college certificate and/or degree programs during and after high school. Travel to local area high schools by personal vehicle will be required.
CCD employs a philosophy of advising services, which focuses on motivating students to complete certificate/degree requirements and successfully transfer to a 4-year institution and/or enter the work force upon completion. Staff must demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision, and philosophy of Community College of Denver.
