The RRCC Department of Geology and Environmental Science is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Geology courses. While the primary need is for an online instructor, most notably for the GEY 1111: Physical Geology w/Lab course, we are hoping to hire someone who could also teach face-to-face in the classroom as the need arises.
We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with a passion for teaching and helping students succeed. The successful candidate has a strong commitment to effective, engaging teaching and creates a class environment that encourages learning. The instructor must be patient and respectful, while also providing clear expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as to the goals of the program.
Part-time instructor responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery will primarily be asynchronously online for pooled course sections through the Colorado Online@ consortium, in which students register from throughout the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). Potential future face-to-face classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends.
This position reports to the department chair within the discipline and does not supervise other employees. Occasional meetings or trainings may also be scheduled outside of regular work hours. The finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online classes.
This position is open and continuous. Candidates selected will be contacted.
