The Project Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects for the College, serving as the primary liaison among architects, engineers, facility users, and contractors. Key responsibilities include coordinating all phases of project control, ensuring compliance with regulations, and directing contractors to meet contract terms.
The Project Management Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing procedures for reviewing building use and operational efficiency, recommending task assignments, and overseeing resource needs and software acquisition. Additionally, this position manages the solicitation, selection, and negotiation of contracts, including developing scopes of work and monitoring contract utilization. This position will be performing the following: Writing scope for projects, reviewing and approving submittals, contract review, close-out documentation and participating in OAC meetings and following up with issues as needed. Additionally this position will coordinate and track internal projects. Be the point of contact for institutional requests for remodels and or special projects.
A successful candidate possesses construction project management experience, and is at ease with the following:
- Project Management: Develops and manages the scope of a project. Understands the importance of quality assurance and control. Identifies key stakeholders and analyzes environmental influences impacting a project. Guides a project to its successful completion.
- Planning and Prioritization: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements. Coordinates with others in response to multiple competing demands to ensure work is completed promptly. Readily readjusts priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands.
- Process Management: Develops and monitors processes and organizes resources to achieve desired results.
