History

Founded in 1987, the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges advances the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the Colorado Community College System (CCCS).

The Foundation was originally started to support the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE) in securing funding not typically available to state agencies for vital capital development projects. The Foundation was instrumental in the acquisition of land and buildings at the Lowry Campus, Pikes Peak Community College and Arapahoe Community College. Those initial investments have been invaluable to the economic growth of each of the local communities.

Since its founding, the Foundation has made great strides in its mission to support the Colorado Community College System. Every day we work collaboratively with business, industry, community college presidents, and foundation directors, and the SBCCOE to meet the needs of CCCS students and faculty.

Board of Directors

The Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges is governed by an independent board made up of community volunteers and industry leaders, a representative from the SBCCOE, our colleges and the CCCS System Chancellor.
