Federico Chavez is in his second year at Front Range Community College and the interim Chair of the State Student Advisory Council (SSAC). Federico plans to graduate from FRCC in May of 2023 with an Associate of Science degree and then transfer to a Colorado university to complete a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. As someone who is surrounded daily by peers who strongly depend on CCCS colleges to further their education and careers, he strives to advocate on their behalf by staying abreast of initiatives and opportunities for students across the System and providing an accurate student perspective.
At FRCC, Federico is also involved in his college's science club, and he takes time to support his fellow students as a math supplemental instructor. Federico’s outstanding leadership skills and passion for advocacy are invaluable to community college students across the state. His efforts have been recognized at the state-level and for fiscal year 2023, he has been selected to serve as the student representative to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.
The State Student Advisory Council (SSAC) is comprised of students elected by each of the established student governments from across the Colorado Community College System. SSAC is charged with advising the State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE) on matters of interest and concern to all CCCS students.
