Policy Statement

It is the Board’s intent that architectural professional consultants be of superior professional standing and be the most highly qualified to perform the task at hand. They are to be selected in a manner which will accomplish this intent.

Scope

This policy applies to the state system community colleges.

Establishment of Architectural Selection Advisory Committee

When the services of architects/engineers are needed either for consultation or to perform services relative to new facilities or remodels which are visual or have an impact on campus design, the college president shall establish an Architectural Selection Advisory Committee to review applications and make a recommendation to the college president.

Composition of Committee

The committee shall be composed at a minimum of the following:
College President or designee (chair) Board Chair’s designee
College Advisory Council Chair or designee System President or designee
Faculty Member Student
Architect/engineer

Procedures

The System President shall promulgate procedures necessary for the implementation of this policy.
