Policy Statement

The State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE or Board) recognizes that there are budgetary situations that will require necessary actions to mitigate financial and other adverse conditions. Furloughs are designed to be a proportionate response to such conditions and a job preservation tool, where possible, in lieu of layoffs or other separations from employment. The System Office and Colleges are authorized to utilize mandatory and/or voluntary furloughs for non-Classified employees and voluntary furloughs for Classified employees after consideration of other cost-saving measures and as outlined in applicable procedures.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees within the Colorado Community College System, including its Colleges (CCCS or the System).

Procedures

The Chancellor shall promulgate such procedures as may be needed to implement this policy.
