2025-2030 Strategic Planning Process

Now more than ever, Colorado needs its community colleges. Too many Coloradans are struggling to make ends meet and need pathways to family-sustaining jobs. Meanwhile, employers continue to face longstanding worker shortages in healthcare, construction, and other industries critical to our state’s success.

The Colorado Community College System is poised to solve these challenges—and we need your input to be successful. That’s why we’re asking you to join our strategic planning process.

Why a New Strategic Plan?

Our current strategic plan has guided our priorities and activities since 2015. A lot has changed since then! Together with feedback from students, employers, and Colorado communities, we’re drafting a new plan that will meet the needs of today’s learners while keeping ahead of emerging workforce and industry trends.

How Will CCCS Develop the New Plan?

CCCS is partnering with the Keystone Policy Center to conduct a statewide listening tour over March and April 2024 (see dates below). Then, we’ll work with Keystone to synthesize learnings and set a new vision grounded in responsive goals and strategies. We expect to finalize the 2030 Strategic Plan later this year.

Changing the Way Colorado Goes to College

As an open access education and training system with 13 colleges and 35 locations across Colorado, we exist to serve you—our Colorado communities. We hope you join us in building an education and workforce training system that works for everyone. State Board members may be in attendance.

Members of the press are encouraged to attend the listening sessions. To RSVP, please email cccs.communications@cccs.edu.
