This position is responsible for conducting research in design, developing tests, debugging, generating internal and external documentation, and implementing and maintaining web applications. Responsibilities also involves Office 365 development using Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and other related technologies. This position works independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completed associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Three years of professional level experience developing, managing and updating a high-volume website.
- Operational knowledge of one or more commercial content management systems.
- Experience with Office 365 development tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end technologies (Node.js, .NET, PHP, C# etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with 508/ADA requirements.
Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed advanced degree in computer science, computer information systems, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Four or more years of professional level experience developing, managing, and updating a high-volume website.
- Demonstrated experience with IIS, Apache, or another Web Server.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Demonstrated knowledge of versioning, documentation, and software developing tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture.
- Demonstrated knowledge of web development frameworks (i.e., Bootstrap) and proficient with responsive web design.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Ajax technologies, languages, libraries, and frameworks (i.e., CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, ASP.NET AJAX, etc.).
- Experience with web services (JASON-RPC, SOAP, REST, or XML-RPC) and API development and utilization.
- Relevant certifications (Office 365 development, Azure, ITIL certification. Apple, CompTIA, etc.
- Program or project management experience.
- Experience in a higher education IT environment.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for full life cycle of web and Office 365 development.
- Coordinate with supervisor requirements (to include reasonable privacy, security, and accessibility concerns).
- Recommend expectations and feature priorities.
- Determine design methodologies, tool sets, programming languages, software products, documentation formats, and design; implement and maintain databases.
- Design and conduct tests.
- Provide recommendations to the supervisor.
- Troubleshoot, repair, update, and test legacy code.
- Review, assign, and close ITSS requests.
- Clearly and punctually document requirements, processes, and technical specifications.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to ensure a consistent user experience that meets marketing and industry standards.
- Serve as level II support, resolve, and close, regularly and in a timely manner, ITSS requests.
- Monitor system performance.
- Coordinate and communicate with vendor’s technical support staff.
- Provide feedback to the supervisor about systems performance and recommendations.
- Keep current on new software technologies and issues through professional development opportunities, industry literature, and news channels.
- Additional duties as assigned.
