Department Purpose
The TRIO Upward Bound (UB) Program prepares eligible high school students for higher education and assists them to prepare for, enter, and graduate from college.

Summary
The TRIO Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS) Coach provides STEM services to students in assessing their academic skills and designing individualized academic and career plans to prepare students for academic success and college attainment. The Coach plans and delivers STEM, leadership, career, college preparatory, and cultural enrichment workshops, campus tours, and activities that help prepare UBMS participants to succeed in college.
 
This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with Department of Education guidelines.  As a CSA, the incumbent is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety and must attend related annual training. 
 
In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.
