Job Description

The Fine Woodworking department is a group of professional woodworkers whose mission is to develop students to think critically about design, their works’ historical context, and the creation of well-crafted pieces.   We teach traditional and modern woodworking technologies to best prepare our students for professional enterprises in the field.  We have a very culturally diverse student population whose woodworking interests vary.  

Part-time Instructors provide instructional duties for the College in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the department chair within the discipline and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends.

The instructor must be patient and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program. 

This position reports to the department chair within the discipline and does not supervise other employees. Occasional meetings or trainings may also be scheduled outside of regular work hours. The finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online classes.
This post will be used to fill the following courses:  Introduction to Woodworking, and other courses within the FIW department.
