Job Description

The Visual, Audio, and Media Arts (VAMA) at RRCC is seeking a work-study lab assistant to help with services ranging from general informational assistance to essential operational duties that help the department run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers exciting opportunities to interact with diverse groups of people and gain valuable professional experience.

The assistant supports the daily operations of the department by securing rooms and preparing classrooms. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting students and visitors, overseeing lab and studio sign-ins, maintaining a conducive learning environment, and managing communication via student-employee email. The role also involves equipment check-ins/outs, maintenance, and assisting with department displays and events. Additionally, the assistant participates in creative media projects and generates content for social media marketing. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal communication.

This position reports to Paul D. Weinrauch. The work schedule for this position could be Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Campus location. May require hours outside of normal work schedule, as well as off-campus.

This is a student employee position. This position may work up to 20 hours each week while class is in session and up to 28 hours each week during academic breaks or breaks between terms while an RRCC student, depending on class schedule, need, and budget availability. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to a TIAA-CREF account when enrolled in less than six credits.
