AY 2022-2023 Scholarships
Audrey D. and Harvey D. Rothenberg Scholarship
Established by Audrey D. and Harvey D. Rothenberg in 2016, one annual scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional student who is either attending or planning to attend a Colorado Community College System institution.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate or transfer program at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College; and
- Be a non-traditional student.
Students who receive an Audrey D. and Harvey D. Rothenberg Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed, and depend on funding, your status with your respective program, and your renewal application.
The Center Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship
The Center Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund was designed to perpetuate the values important to Dr. Amy Kahn, her family, and her mother Charlene Center Kahn Berman. The purpose of the fund is to award scholarships to students who have demonstrated advocacy for, or commitment to, diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or students with a psychological or physical disability.
The Center Family Foundation has made this scholarship possible. The family has a long-held commitment to investing in community colleges and students and Charlene’s children, Amy, David, and Adam Kahn requested that this scholarship be formed in their mother's memory. Although open to all, the special focus may be given to students interested in the field of education. Scholarships awarded from this fund may be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, required supplies, and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State College;

CHFA Building the Future Scholarship
CHFA is a mission-driven enterprise working to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development. CHFA Building the Future Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing postsecondary credentials in high-wage, high-skill, in-demand career pathways. Eligible pathways include: Health; Energy, Natural Resources, Infrastructure, and Engineering; Professional and Technical Services; Education; Business Operations; and Construction and Skilled Trades.
Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in one of the identified in-demand career pathways at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State College;
- Complete, and submit to their college, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.ed.gov);
- Be eligible for in-state tuition; and
- Must be a US citizen or ASSET student.
Students who receive a CHFA Building the Future Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities, including maintaining a GPA of at least 2.0. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed, and depend on funding, your status with your respective program, and your renewal application.
Colorado Garden Foundation Scholarship
Colorado Garden Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing a two-year degree in either Soil & Crop Science or Agricultural Education at Lamar Community College, Otero College, or Trinidad State College. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, books, fees, supplies, and transportation.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a two-year Associate of Science degree program in either Soil & Crop Science or Agricultural Education at one of the following Colorado community colleges: Lamar Community College, Otero College, or Trinidad State College; and
- Be enrolled full-time.
Colorado Garden Foundation Scholarships are awarded as two year scholarships. Scholars are not required to reapply for the second year of funding, however, the scholarship may be revoked if the student fails to write an annual thank you letter to the Colorado Garden Foundation; the student’s annual grade point average falls below 2.50; the student changes to a course of study outside of approved fields; or the student participates in conduct unbecoming of a scholarship recipient.
Credit Union of Colorado Scholarship
Each year the Credit Union of Colorado, in partnership with the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges, offers scholarships to five students who are members of the Credit Union of Colorado and are pursuing their education at one of the 13 CCCS colleges.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:- Be a member of the Credit Union of Colorado (cuofco.org). Membership is free;
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer programs at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College;
- Be enrolled in at least a half academic load each semester (minimum 6 credit hours)
- Be a United States citizen or have permanent residency.
Students who receive a Credit Union of Colorado Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities, including maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed, and depend on funding, your status with your respective program, and your renewal application.
The Desert Storm Memorial Scholarship
The Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges is the designated recipient of the Desert Storm Memorial Scholarship Fund of The Denver Foundation. The Desert Storm Memorial Scholarship Fund was originally established to provide scholarships for qualified children of Colorado residents who were killed or totally and permanently disabled in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. Upon the exhaustion of designated eligible beneficiaries, The Denver Foundation converted this fund to provide scholarships to military veterans who are attending any of schools within the Colorado Community College System.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State College; and
- Be a U.S. military veteran.
Students who receive a Desert Storm Memorial Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed, and depend on funding, your status with your respective program, and your renewal application.
Disabled American Veterans Department of Colorado Scholarship
The Disabled American Veterans Department of Colorado Scholarship is awarded to students attending or planning to attend a Colorado Community College System college. Scholarships awarded from this fund may be used to pay tuition, fees, books, required supplies, and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need that is directly related to college expenses.
In awarding the scholarship, preference will be given to:
- Veterans or family members of veterans, with a strong preference for disabled veterans;
- Students who have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5;
- Colorado residents; and
- Full time students, taking a minimum 12 credit hours per semester
Students who receive a Disabled American Veterans Department of Colorado Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities, including maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges Scholarship
Ongoing support to the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges provides a limited number of scholarships for students who are either attending or planning to attend a Colorado Community College System institution. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs of attendance.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program at one of the 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College; and
- Be enrolled full-time or part-time
Thomas T. Grimshaw Endowed Scholarship
The Thomas T. Grimshaw Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 in honor of Mr. Grimshaw’s longtime advocacy on behalf of the Colorado Community College System and his distinguished service on both the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education and the Foundation for Colorado Community College Board of Directors. This fund provides need-based scholarships that can be used for tuition, fees, books and required supplies.
To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a certificate or degree program (AA, AS, AGS, or AAS) at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College;
- Be enrolled in at least a half academic load each semester (minimum 6 credit hours);
- Have achieved an overall high school or college GPA of 2.0 to apply, and must maintain a 2.5 GPA each semester during the scholarship year;
- Be a Colorado resident;
- Complete, and submit to their college, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.ed.gov);
Students who receive a Thomas T. Grimshaw Endowed Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities. HealthONE Scholarship
As part of HCA Healthcare, HealthONE proudly serves the metro Denver area as the largest healthcare system with more than 11,000 employees. The HealthONE scholarship is awarded to students who are pursuing a career in the allied health fields.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program in the allied health fields; and
- Agree to participate in mentorship opportunities offered by HealthONE.
Students who receive a HealthONE Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities. Scholarship renewals are not guaranteed, and depend on funding, your status with your respective program, and your renewal application.
IMA Foundation Scholarship
The IMA Foundation aims to support educational institutions so that our young people graduate with increased skills and knowledge, resulting in a higher-skilled workforce in the future. IMA Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students completing postsecondary credentials in high-wage, high-skill, in-demand career pathways.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in one of the identified in-demand career pathways at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State College;
- Complete, and submit to their college, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.ed.gov);
- Be eligible for in-state tuition; and
- Must be a US citizen or ASSET student.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado Equity Scholarship
To meet the intensifying need for a diverse and inclusive health care workforce, the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges and Kaiser Permanente have partnered to offer Kaiser Permanente Colorado Equity Scholarships. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State College;
- Be pursuing a credential in the health science field; and
- Be one or more of the following: African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, LGBTQI, a person with a disability, or a U.S. Veteran.
Students who receive a Kaiser Permanente Colorado Equity Scholarship may be eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities. Optum 21st Century Scholarship
Optum Scholarships are awarded to students preparing for a career in the allied health fields. Optum is dedicated to helping people live healthier lives and helping make the health system work better for everyone, and supporting the next generation of healthcare workers is part of that mission. Scholarship funding may be used for tuition, books, fees, supplies, room, and board.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be pursuing a credential in an allied health field at one of the 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College;
- Complete, and submit to their college, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.ed.gov);
- Be eligible for in-state tuition;
- Must be a US citizen or ASSET student; and
- Will be required to maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher and fulfill all scholarship responsibilities as defined by the Foundation.
Dr. Nancy J. McCallin Endowed Scholarship
Dr. Nancy J. McCallin Scholarships are awarded based on merit with GPA and the difficulty of a student’s program of study given due consideration. Scholarships awarded from this fund may be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, required supplies, and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need. The Nancy J. McCallin Endowed Scholarship Fund honors, recognizes, and celebrates Dr. McCallin’s fourteen years of service to the Colorado Community College System. As the longest tenured System President, Dr. McCallin oversaw a period of dramatic growth while ensuring financial stability, increased student success, and unparalleled service to Colorado communities.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a credential program at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College;

Merritt Family Opportunity Scholarship
The Merritt Family Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a credential in the skilled trades such as welding, advanced manufacturing, precision machining and/or industrial maintenance. Merritt Aluminum Products and Merritt Trailers are industry leading companies that the Merritt family has owned and operated for 70 years.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a skilled trades program such as welding, advanced manufacturing, precision machining, and/or industrial maintenance at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College;

Dr. Russell Meyer Scholarship
The Dr. Russell Meyer Scholarship was established to honor Meyer’s legacy as an educator and advocate for students. Russ worked for 40+ years in higher education as a teacher, professor, and administrator. After retirement, Russ served as a board member and chair of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education, finding a stronger passion in life by supporting community colleges and the greater financial needs of its students. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

PepsiCo Foundation Uplift Scholarship
The Colorado Community College System is proud to be a part of the PepsiCo Foundation Uplift Scholarship program that aims to support closing the wealth gap by providing access to higher education to 4,000 Black and Hispanic students within the next five years. These scholarships will enable students to acquire jobs in high growth and promising fields. The comprehensive scholarship program includes assistance for tuition including wrap-around support and access to emergency funds.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer programs at one of the following community colleges: Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, or Front Range Community College;
- Be enrolled in fields such as Marketing and Sales, Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and other high demand fields within the "food systems" industry.
- Be enrolled in at least a half academic load each semester (minimum 6 credit hours); and
- Complete, and submit to their college, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.ed.gov).
Students who receive a PepsiCo Foundation Uplift Scholarship are eligible to apply for renewed scholarship funding, provided they fulfill all scholarship responsibilities, including remaining in good academic standing, meeting with the advisor regularly, and completing a basic renewal application that includes a recommendation from the advisor.

Dorothy Schneider Scholarship
The Dorothy Schneider Scholarship was established to honor Dorothy’s legacy as a devoted advocate and supporter of disadvantaged elementary school students. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in an education/teaching program at a CCCS college. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs of attendance.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program at one of the following 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State College;
- Be pursuing a certificate or degree in education/teaching.

Stone Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship
Established by The Stone Family Foundation in 2012, this fund provides need-based scholarships to students who are either attending or planning to attend a Colorado Community College System institution. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a degree, certificate, or transfer program at one of the 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College; and

The Stratosphere Scholarship
The Stratosphere Scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math related pathway at a CCCS college. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math program at one of the 13 Colorado community colleges: Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero Junior College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College;

Workforce CTE Scholarship
Workforce CTE Scholarships are awarded to students to completing postsecondary credentials in high-wage, high-skill, in-demand career pathways. Funding for these scholarships is made possible through support from the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative and other generous donors. Eligible pathways include: Health; Energy, Natural Resources, Infrastructure, and Engineering; Professional and Technical Services; Education; Business Operations; and Construction and Skilled Trades. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, required supplies and any other costs to fully meet a student’s unmet financial need.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
