Biography

A native of Pueblo, Steven L. Trujillo has a deep passion for his community and the state of Colorado. Currently, Steven serves as the executive director of the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo, where he works with dedicated staff and community partners to address the housing needs of Pueblo.

Steven enjoys giving back to his community through service on different boards and commissions. In late 2023, Steven was elected as president of the Colorado chapter of the National Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), where he works alongside his colleagues from around the state to advance the housing landscape for all Coloradans. He has also served on the Colorado Commission for Higher Education and the board of Chavez-Huerta Preparatory Academy, which has pioneered early college programs in partnership with Pueblo Community College (PCC) and Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo).

A first-generation student, Steven holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in general studies from PCC and a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from CSU Pueblo.

Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time with his family in the beautiful Colorado outdoors and traveling across the country.
