Policy Statement

It is the intention of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE or Board) that its employees shall be defended in any lawsuit against them which arises from actions taken in the performance of their duties, so long as such actions are within the scope of their employment, and they have not acted in a willful or wanton manner (with intent or reckless disregard for the consequences).

Scope

This policy applies to all employees within the Colorado Community College System, including its Colleges (CCCS or System).

Procedure

The Chancellor shall promulgate such procedures as may be needed to implement this policy.
