Hector Vargas is a Latino entrepreneur from Redondo Beach, California. A first-generation student, Hector plans to earn an Associate of the Arts degree in political science from Front Range Community College (FRCC) in 2024 and transfer to the University of Colorado Boulder to pursue his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
At FRCC, Vargas graciously dedicates time his time to support his fellow students by serving as an executive member for the student government association, a student ambassador with the admissions office, and vice president of the science club. He also carves out time to help the college’s newspaper, LEADS (Latinx Excellence, Achievement Development Scholars) program, and TRIO program.
Vargas brings years of leadership and work experience to the Board. After holding positions in several industries—including food, retail, hospitality, and construction—he managed event security at Coors Field, Cirque de Soleil, and Fox Sports. Outside of work, Vargas runs his own company, Worlds Greatest LLC, an online retailer and production company that makes comics, cartoons, and video games.
The State Student Advisory Council (SSAC) is comprised of students elected by each of the established student governments from across the Colorado Community College System. SSAC is charged with advising the State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education on matters of interest and concern to all CCCS students.
